Paving on Grade
Paving on grade involves placing a new layer of asphalt onto a finished subgrade or a sturdy base of material. Some common base materials are gravel and stone. Gravel or stone surfaces become the perfect base for new asphalt.
An asphalt overlay is a simple process of applying a new layer of asphalt to the old pavement. Think of it as a facelift for old, deteriorating patches of asphalt. For asphalt overlays to work, the existing base should be relatively sturdy with little to no areas of repair. If the base layer is more aged and damaged, repairs will need to be made before adding the new layer of asphalt. Rest assured, the Conway Asphalt team will take care of any overarching damages before adding a fresh, new layer of asphalt.
Fabric overlays involve adding a layer of geotextile fabric before proceeding with the main asphalt overlay. The textile fabric layer delays reflective cracking, while also being a water-resistant layer that keeps the base layer safe.
